Dec 2009, Advertising sales decline 14 consecutive month

Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry release the industry statistics of Dec 2009.

Internet advertising rise 5.3% compared to Dec 2008.

The chart below shows % up or down compared to same month last year.
And the meaning of column (from left to right) is as follows;
total sales, 4 mass media total, newspaper, magazine, TV, radio, ...., internet, others.

Online ad sales was 180% up, Japanese biggest ad agency in Jan 2010

From the news release of Dentsu, 2010/2/5.
Dentsu is the biggest advertising company in Japan.
Total revenue : 94.4% (compared to the same month of the previous year)

By Media is as follows;
Newspaper : 89.5%
Magazine : 75.4%
Radio : 92.8%
Television : 87.7%
Interactive(online) : 180.2%

Total sales of 4 mass media (TV, radio, magazine, newspaper) also 11 consecutive month decline. Only internet advertising rise 3.9% compared to Nov 2008.
